Lately while reading Frank Herbert’s book Dune, I was struck once again by the Litany against Fear, and how powerful words can be in manifesting a state of calm in our minds. Here is the Litany against Fear for those not aware of it:
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
This is one of the many inspiring things I have come across lately. It has the ability to free the mind and carry it to a point where all things are possible.
